We reject the one-size-fits-all approach that’s all too common in test prep. Every student who comes to us gets a customized program tailored to their unique learning style, starting point, and goals. Our instructors are highly experienced
academicians — not under grad college students — and they bring deep knowledge and a passion for teaching to every session. Math is taught by math experts. Grammar is taught by grammar experts. Every detail of our program is built for quality and long-term results.
The Story Behind It All
In college I studied political science & law. Then about 25 years ago, a close friend — a school headmaster — asked me to step in and teach a class. I was somewhat apprehensive because I'd never taught before, but the moment I stepped into that classroom, I was hooked.
Initially I taught a variety of subjects — to students at every grade level, from elementary to college — in classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one. Eventually I gravitated towards standardized test prep. Interestingly enough, as a student, I’d struggled with those tests myself! I did well on school exams, but I didn’t understand how to prepare for standardized tests.
When I started helping students prepare for the SAT and ACT, I took a deep dive into the exams themselves. I wanted to understand exactly how they worked — how they were structured and what they were designed to measure. In time, I developed a “selective reading” technique that has become a game changer for students who struggle with the reading comprehension portion of standardized tests. Ultimately, it’s the mastery of the concepts and skills tested that is the true “secret sauce” behind significant score increases.
We customize each student’s test prep program. We adapt each course to fit the student’s individual learning style, while making sure they fully master the concepts and skills which will help them to attain their target scores on the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. The result isn’t just higher test scores. It’s about helping students reach their academic goals with confidence, laying a strong foundation for success in college and beyond.
